Located in Central Vietnam, "Danang" is the fourth largest city and also an important port. Historically it is relatively new compared to the rest of Vietnam, whose history dates back 4,000 years. Danang's history goes back only 300 years and it is a relatively young city. Being a port, Danang is well connected to other cities by sea and air as well as road and rail. Avalokitecvara Festival is celebrated every year in the beautiful landscape of the Marble Mountains of Danang city. It was first celebrated in 1960 on the opening of Bo Tat Quan The Am statue in Hoa Nghiem Cavern, Thuy Son mountain, west of Marble Mountains.
